The Epic overall was tastefully and elegantly decorated with lots of crystal, velvet and glitter. What I found fun and very pretty were all the tiny little lights in the ceilings. It really added to the decor as illustrated in the above top photo. So I felt they did a great job with all the common areas, bars, clubs lounges, restaurants etc. The photo above was also another cleaver idea. They color-coded all the hallways and carpeting to the cabins. The right side was blue and the left were orange which made finding your room pretty simple after partying all night at the clubs or casino....
The Casino was also very nice and seemed to be spread out throughout the ship which was interesting. I actually won a little money on this trip so it was even nicer for me :) But a casino is a casino and while on the ship don't indulge there too much, go an enjoy the shows, clubs and the other things the ship has to offer.
Most of the things to do and places to eat were confined to mostly just 3 decks (5,6 and 7) That is where all the restaurants were and all the entertainment as well as most of the lounges. Deck 14 had the children's area as well as the spa. And deck 15 and 16 were where the pools and aqua park were located. The rest were mostly all guest cabins.
Epic was a very large ship, but easy to maneuver around. With an overall length of 1,080 ft and carrying approx. 4100 guest and 1703 crew, she would have to be large.
The pool area itself was nice, they had a few different pools with water shooting up from the ground. Lots of comfortable lounge chairs and bars close by for drinks. My favorite was the Aqua Park, they had 3 slides that were equivalent to the real slides at water parks, so they did a great job there. I felt it was a lot of fun and so did everyone else so I am afraid that area will be the cause of lines and waiting once the real cruising starts. We had about a 15-20 min. each time we were in line for the floats to get on the slides and there were hardly any kids, so be prepared to wait.
Also by the pool area they had Rock Climbing and Repelling, Bungee Jumping on a Trampoline, the Sports Complex, the Marketplace, and a Video Arcade. So there was a lot to do in the great outdoors....
