Lounges, Clubs, Bars and Epic Theater

Like I mentioned earlier, I felt all the common areas were very elegant, fun and inviting. One of our favorites was Bliss Ultra Lounge. I love when clubs have a bed available, very relaxing :) The decor and atmosphere was fun and flashy, but it caught your attention. Lots of luxurious purple velvet and gold everywhere. Even the floors were gold and sparkly, kind of reminded you of the Wizard of Oz and following the yellow brick road....

My other favorite was by far the Epic Club Lounge. It was also very gold and glittery but more elegant and the unfortunate part is it is reserved only for the Villas Guest, so unless you are going to fork up the cost of a suite, you will probably never get to see it.

They also had a Humidor Cigar Lounge, but I just peeked inside, too smoking for my taste. The Champagne bar was also very nice as well as the other bars around the ship.

The Epic Theater, where the big productions are held, was large and attractive. Most seating looked well situated toward the stage.

The Fat Cats Blues and Jazz club was great. It felt like you just walk into a club in Harlem NY. They had some very good entertainment where you could sit back and enjoy a cocktail before or after dinner.

Recess, the Children's area was also impressive. Larger than I thought with lots for the kiddies to do and all supervised, so the parents can dropped off the kiddies and then have some fun of their own.

Mandara Spa was lovely and relaxing with a lot of typical spa treatments available for the expected spa prices. They do run specials throughout the cruise, so keep an eye out for those to get some better deals.

I saved the best for last. The Ice Bar.... The only Ice Bar at sea and inspired by the ice hotels in Scandinavia. I loved, loved, loved it! So authentic, but small. But the reality is, you are not going to spend more than 10 Min's here since the temperature is kept at a constant 17 degrees. They do supply you with parker type ponchos equipped with hoods and gloves, but 17 degrees is cold for a long period of time. Everyone seemed to really love it, so different and a MUST see. I feel so bad for the 2 bartenders, they must freeze to death, hopefully they have short shifts. They had two ice sculptures, and seats made of ice and covered in fur. The whole bar was ice and the ceiling looked as if you just walked into a giant freezer. We got to sample a variety of vodka drinks (I recommend the one made with Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice and Vodka, it was delicious). It was a good thing they served vodka, you need something to keep warm. No really, it wasn't that unbearable, I forgot to bring shoes and socks, so my feet got cold in the sandals, but otherwise go prepared and you will be able to spend more time there. It was a lot of fun, so even if you are not a Vodka fan, go check it out anyway....It was a good time!
