The On Board Entertainment

Kudos to NCL Epic for the great entertainment on board. Well most of it was phenomenal with the exception of 2. I will start there. The Legends in Concert where we had dinner at the Manhattan Room was a disappointment to us. They weren't horrible but dull enough for us to walk out.  It was suppose to be a tribute to legendary stars, but they did just a fair job. Some singers sounded like the stars and others just looked liked them. I have seen Transvestites in LA clubs do 100% better impersonations. And finally believe it or not Blue Man Group..... I know, I know, I was really looking forward to this show, with all the hype I thought it would be great. Wow, a real Vegas show on board a cruise ship. Well I got to say I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED. I actually hated it and honestly don't get the whole thing. I did not find it funny, but more annoying, so I also walked out of this show. But again, that is my opinion, go see it for yourself, thank God they don't charge extra for the show :).

Now with the 2 negative reviews out of the way, the others more than made up for them.

The First evening we went to Headlines Comedy Club show Living In America and got to see the Comedy Troupe from Second City do what they do best.  Boy they were funny, with their unique form of sketch comedy that included lots of spontaneous audience involvement. It amazes me how quick on their feet they were. They did a get job and we all laughed and had a great time.

Second City also entertained us at the Spiegel Tent for the Murder Mystery Lunch, Presumed Murdered, where again the audience is part of the action, including choosing the victim and solving the crime. Another fun performance which lasted 1 1/2 hours of pure enjoyment. Great Show!

At the same time as the Murder Mystery Lunch the Nickelodeon team had their famous Slime Time Live. An interactive game show with contestants facing off in messy challenges. And of cause, someone gets slimed. Sorry we missed it, I bet it was fun...

Also at the Spiegel Tent the fabulous Cirque Dreams and Dinner Show. Wow what excitement, what colors, what talent....It's the Big Top meets the Moulin Rouge. An extravaganza of world class talent, Broadway acrobatics, and a touch of whimsy with some audience participation. So much to look at from every angle. It was great, even the waiters and waitress are part of the show. It was 2 hours long, they must have been exhausted! The Acrobatics were amazing and nerve racking.... I had to hold my breath a few times. I was not able to take may photos due to the fact no flash were allowed, but I did attach some of the better ones.

The last evening we attended the Headliner for the "Howl at the Moon" dueling Piano Bar. They play from 70's to hip hop and anything in between, you say it- they play it! The two entertainers had us singing and dancing all night long. The 2 guys on the piano was fantastic, unbelievable musicians and very entertaining, kept the audience hopping. Great show not to be missed.

That is the highlights, so go and enjoy NCL Epic and hope you have as much fun as I did.....

*One note.... I do not want to criticize too much but NCL did not seem to have a good handle yet on things, they did not seem to organized and we waited for a lot of things ref. to entertainment and restaurants. I assumed they will get better with time, after all it was their first sailing.....
